Are you a young athlete dreaming of playing soccer at a collegiate level in the United States?

At GSR, we’re dedicated to making those dreams a reality.

We specialise in working with talented athletes like you to secure soccer scholarships at a variety of different colleges and universities across the US, finding the perfect fit based on your cultural preferences, desired areas of study, and athletic aspirations.

On 28th March 2024, we’re bringing this opportunity to Dublin with our soccer trials. So, let’s find out more about how you can transform your passion for soccer into a pathway for future education and career success.

What to expect on the day

The soccer trials promise a day filled with insight, excitement, and opportunities for growth. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by our friendly team, ready to assist you every step of the way. But what exactly should you expect once you step onto the field?

To kick things off, you’ll have the chance to hear from former scholarship athletes who have firsthand experience navigating the American collegiate soccer scene. Their stories and insights will provide invaluable guidance and inspiration as you embark on your own journey.

Then it’s time for the main event – the football assessment.

Led by our expert coaches, this session will serve as an opportunity for your child to showcase their skills on the pitch. From dribbling and passing to shooting and tactical awareness, our coaches will be observing every aspect of your child’s game to assess their potential.

You’ll then get comprehensive feedback, alongside our decision, within 48 hours.

Meet our friendly and experienced team

Unlike traditional recruitment agencies, we take a personalised approach to every athlete we work with. We understand that your journey is unique, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. We pride ourselves on having an incredibly knowledgeable team dedicated to helping you navigate the scholarship process with confidence. During the trials, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with our experienced staff members, including:

Simone Enrici

With experience as both a former student athlete and college coach in the U.S., Simone brings a unique perspective to the table.

Dave McPherson

As an ex-professional footballer and World Cup player, Dave’s insights into the world of soccer are second to none.

Callum Smith

Having walked the path of a former student athlete himself, Callum understands the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Kirsten Reilly

Now a professional footballer for Crystal Palace FC, Kirsten attended the University of West Alabama on a scholarship when she was 17. She is ideally suited to offer support and insights to young athletes.

These experts are here to answer any questions you may have about the scholarship process, from eligibility requirements to academic considerations and everything in between. Feel free to approach them throughout the day to gain valuable insights tailored to your individual needs.

How to get to the Sport Ireland Campus

Now let’s talk logistics. The Sport Ireland Campus is located in the western suburbs of Dublin on Snugborough Road. It’s easy to get to by car, train or bus (from the city centre), which makes it the ideal location for any budding athletes. For more information on how to get there, take a look at their website.

Why attend a trial day?

Trial days aren’t just about showcasing your skills on the field; they’re also a fantastic opportunity for you and your family to learn more about life as a scholarship athlete at an American university. From academic opportunities to cultural experiences, attending a trial day can open doors to a world of possibilities you may not have considered before.
